AgriFood Collective

We are The AgriFood Collective - a recently created collective of students who are organising events, raising awareness, research and advocate on topics related to food sovereignty, right to food, food security, food cultures, rural development, rights of peasants and of indigenous people, access to land and more! The collective aims to also serve as a platform to connect students, PhDs, and professors working on the above topics. The collective aims to create a dynamic research environment and to bridge academia with civil society, connecting Geneva Graduate Institute students with local Geneva-based organisations and international organisations.

The AgriFood Collective is sending a delegation to attend the World Food Forum 2024 in Rome and host a side-event on the following topic: Empowering Communities: Practical Models for Transforming Agri-Food Systems. The side event will be a workshop on four models for community empowerment for agri-food system transformation: farmer field schools, community food sovereignty, social finance, and the HDP nexus (humanitarian, development, and peace). The participants will then apply the models on a fictional case study, and learn to empower communities to transform the agrifood system!
