Walk to the Geneva Peace Talks with Peacebuilding Initiative
Each year the International Day of Peace (IDP) is observed around the world on September 21st. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. Never has our world needed peace more. That is why, the UN Geneva Office organises the Geneva Peace Talks where you can listen to inspiring peacebuilding stories from around the world.
If you are interested by the event, join the Peacebuilding Initiative's group and let's attend the Geneva Peace Talks together!
Don't forget to register for the Geneva Peace Talks 2024 here:

Inspiring Peacemakers: Starting our Journey in a Violent World
This event will be moderated by Shruti Satish, President of the Peacebuilding Initiative, with introductory remarks by our guest of honour, Ambassador Tormod C. Endresen, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Norway to the United Nations, Geneva.
In partnership with Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance, the Peacebuilding Initiative, the Centre on Conflict, Development and Peacebuilding, and La Fabrique de la paix, or “The Fab”, are pleased to announce the launch of the Inspiring Peacemakers Series.
Expanded and refreshed, the new series offers a platform to our students for robust, frank, and diverse discussions with inspiring peacemakers, following the successful conversation series with distinguished peace mediators Miriam Coronel-Ferrer and Julian Thomas Hottinger which took place at The Fab earlier this year.
The Fab is the Geneva Graduate Institute’s innovation lab, a creative and safe space that promotes and showcases collaborative solutions for the world of today and tomorrow. Students will have the unique opportunity to design, curate, and host meaningful conversations with experts in different fields such as in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, migration, gender, climate change, trade and economic development, all in regards to their intersections with peace.
Nagulendran Philanthropy Alliance will share and extend its expertise, ideas and network to support our students in the Inspiring Peacemakers Series over the next five years, aligning the duration of the conversation series with the recently established Nagulendran Chair in Peace Mediation, the first ever chair in peace mediation in Switzerland held by Professor Achim Wennmann at the Geneva Graduate Institute.
